Junior Software Developer

As a Software Developer at Vecima, you will influence the design and have a vital role in development of software components for use in Vecima’s varied product offerings. These software components may be targeted anywhere from near-real-time, low level processing on Vecima-designed embedded systems through to cloud computing on commodity hardware. You will work with colleagues to leverage and increase your collective knowledge and skill sets, while continuously improving Vecima’s design practices, processes, and quality.
Skills & Requirements
- User-land programming in a Linux/Unix environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Networking protocol implementation and analysis
- High level software design
- Embedded software development
- Cloud software development
- TCP/IP, UDP/IP, SNMP, HTTP, and other networking protocols
- Experience with MPEG, DOCSIS, IEEE 802 standards
- Software testing methods
- Software testing automation
- Candidates should have a university degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Candidates must work out of the Saskatoon or Burnaby office
- Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada
- Candidates who are not local to a Vecima Research and Development office will be interviewed via telephone, with local candidates interviewed in person
- Second round interviews will be conducted in person at Vecima’s main Research and Development Center in Saskatoon
